Sometimes, you come across stories that are so incredible that you have no choice but to turn to the best storytellers in the world and let them do what they do best—to capture our attention and imagination. That's exactly what happened when the amazing team at Alto asked me to collaborate on a project for the Montefiore Transplant Centre. Paul Rivera was a man who had lived a vibrant and full life, but one day, he suddenly found himself and his family on an emotional rollercoaster, facing daunting odds of survival. With Alexander Payne and Paul Giamatti on our side, we set out to share this incredible story of hope and resilience with the world. As the days grew shorter, I moved on to other projects. I'm grateful to have been part of this project and watched as Alto, Alexander Payne, and Paul Giamatti turned Paul Rivera's story into a beautiful piece of film.
