The Diesel campaign "Make Love, Not Walls" was launched just as President Trump promised to erect a 21 billion dollar wall between US and Mexico (It's gonna be huge!). The work developed in collaboration with David Lachapelle included film, art exhibitions, wall take overs in fifty countries, pop-up inflatable 'love tanks'. A joyful comment on what to do with a world of borders.
The work features Ukrainian ballet dancer Sergei Polunin, along with a transsexual model Laith de la Cruz; artist Karis Wilde; Olympic silver medalist Danell Leyva; drag star Raja; and transgender icon Octavia Hamlett and collages by artist Stephan –who also make a cameo in the ads, wearing nothing but Diesel boots.
The campaign was shot David LaChapelle in colloboration with Nicola Formichetti and Jacob Wildschiødtz. Editing by Govert Janse.
